Spring in Full Swing

Report Date: June 3, 2019

Once again May did not let us down this year. Like I always say May is my favorite month out of the year to fish Miami.

Inshore fishing has heated up with the snook starting to move into the inlets and Biscayne Bay. They will get thicker over the next couple months when they begin to spawn. Tarpon are still around early morning and late evenings into the night. Crabs and shrimp have been the preferred bait for them. All our inshore fish are caught on light tackle which makes it fun and keeps a challenge for the anglers.

Offshore fishing couldn't be much better over the past few weeks. Sailfish have been abundant late afternoon, along with schooling king mackeral, bonitafish, game sharks, mahi mahi, trophy barracudas and big blackfin tuna.

Fishing on the bottom we have been catching limits of amberjacks, cubera snapper, mutton snapper, cobia, african pompano, and grouper.

The only fish we have been missing out on lately are the mahi mahi. I have heard of some good reports in the keys which means that they should be showing up here soon.

I will be booked the next few weeks but still have some openings Mid June and Mid July. Please call me for scheduling to book your fishing trip of a lifetime. We will give our hundred percent to make sure we produce for you.

Hope everyone has a great summer

Capt. Fred David
