Fun Fall Fishing

Report Date: December 1, 2018

Fishing has been very good this past month. Both the top and the bottom fish have been biting. Other then the bait being difficult to target, everything else has cooperated.

The first reef have been producing mutton snapper, kingfish, Spanish mackeral, yellowtail snapper, and some smaller amberjacks. We have been anchoring on the first reef with live bait and light spinning tackle which is a lot of fun . I have been taking out a good amount of families and kids lately which has been a blast for them!

Further offshore we have been seeing a few sailfish and some mahi mahi. There have also been a fair amount of little tunnies eating our kite baits and flatlines.

I was only able to make one swordfish trip last month but fortunately we got lucky and caught a keeper. Daytime swords have been a struggle for me lately but I am hoping that changes next year.

I had a chance to fish the leukemia and lymphoma tournament held is West End this year aboard the Daysea. Fishing was slow for us but we did manage to snag a couple. It is a great tournament to fish for a good cause. I hope I have an oppurtunity to be a part of it next year.

Hope everyone has a great Holiday Season. Till next time...
